The jaw pain was one thing, but it's the headaches that are deteriorating my life. I keep on getting more and more depressed, which isn't helping at all. I'm currently taking Flexoril to relax the muscles. It does good to relieve all the pain eg. the neck, back, and head and does lessen the degree of the actual headache, but this is in no way a fix.

After all the research I've done, I'm gonna go for neuromuscular dentistry, a chiro, and start doing yoga. I need my life back!

If anyone has any insight, please respond. FYI, my right disk is displaced when my mouth is closed according to my MRI. This all started when I got my wisdom teeth out. (A minor problem) Now my life is falling apart.

Wisdom Teeth....Do the wise thing and leave them there.

Good for you. It sounds like you have an integrative treatment plan which takes into account the lifestyle changes and modalities that can help. I looked into some yoga poses for you (Also known as asanas) and found some great information. I'd suggest that you find a teacher who can guide you safely...and cares about healing the body and is knowledgeable about anatomy for yoga therapy. The key is to breathe, loosen the lock on your jaw and relax in the face of all activity.

Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog) brings blood flow into your cranium, bathing the TMJ in blood and lymph. Upward Facing Dog into Downward Facing Dog serves to flush blood in and out of the jaw and face. Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand) or Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall-Pose) will also send ample blood into this area, again bathing the joint in much-needed fluid. You may wish to avoid Salamba Sirsasana (Headstand) altogether as it can tend to put even greater pressure on the TMJ.

A low dose antidepressant has been known to help with headaches. I get jaw and neck pain too and had a tension type headache for years. I started taking something called neurapas and it really helped with my headaches (also diziness). It's a combination of natural herbs. You can get it from a naturopath. Might be worth a try. Good luck
