Headache associated with sex can be:
1. PRIMARY as a benign coital headache or
variant of migraine or cluster headache,
and
2. SYMPTOMATIC as a result of some brain
disorder like subarachnoid hemorrhage or
intracerebral hemorrhage (from an
aneurysm, arterial-venous malformation or
arterial disease) or brain tumor.
You can request a CT-scan of the head to
exclude any brain disorder (tumor or
hemorrhage) as a reason for the headache.
If there is no organic reason for the
headache you can try taking painkillers.
Beta-blockers and anti-migraine medicines
are also used for treating such types of
headache but they should be prescribed by
a doctor.
You may want to consult a neurologist
about your problem.
