headache
i was having headache since 2001 everyday also. until recently it is down and not everyday. I'm a 37yrd old female. had mri/ct scan and all types of migraine meds...nothing worked. I did research on computer and found out alot of foods can cause sinus build up. I have major forehead pain, pressure in nose and cheeks. I realized Garlic and onions effects me. And believe me garlic is in everything. garlic powder and onion powder is everywhere. it's in Miracle whip, ALL FROZEN FOODS, subs...etc. potatoes, bread, milk, night shade foods all cause sinus congestion. try stop eating these foods for 2 weeks. then try 1 at a time and see if your headache comes back to narrow down. But galic and onions was the source of headache for me. couldn't even move head or sleep it was so bad. read ingreidents .

On the boat with you!
HI, try also drinking more water, dehydration can cause major headaches...I've had them for well over 30 years. I could not begin to list the meds I've taken over the years....everything from channel blockers, antidepressants to migraine meds....Never thought about sinus buildup and food relationships....will have to look into that! Appreciate the advice!

Hello there,
Thank you for sharing. I am a 34 year old female. I have had a chronic headache or head pain since 2005 after a bad car accident. I have tried almost everything rx medicine, aqupuncture, to natural cures.
The one thing that helps a small amount is a proceedure called a nerve burn (proper name can not spell sorry). I started with nerve blocks and they went to burning the nerves.
I will not lie this procedure hurts but it helps with concentration, pain and many other things.
good luck

taykare, I've never heard of this....how is this done? outpatient? how long does it last? I myself had a cerebral anureysm in 1999...still ahve headaches 2-3 times a week and major ones about once a month I've just learned to deal with them, I tell myself there are others that have worse pain and suffering than me....

VERY VERY OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Fairy Godmother, The nerve burn(rhysidomy) is done as an outpatient, it can last as long as 9 to 12 months or can last only a few weeks to 3 months. Each person is different for myself it only lasts 6 to 8 weeks until it starts to get worse again. After the 6 weeks where my painlevel has been between 4 and 6 depending on what I can do. Then the pain increases up and up until my next nerve burn by the time I have the appointment to go in my pain level has increased to 10 .
I also go from a cane for balance to a walker and if my nerve burns are later than 6 weeks I have to go back into my wheel chair. The pain clinic will not just jump into the nerve burn but before they will do the nerve burn they will try a nerve block same idea only they freeze the nerve and the block can last from 6 to 9 months, again depending on the person. They may even try a drug call duragisc/fentanyl that is an opiod, but it is a patch that lasts 72 hours. Okay this is how it starts: For me I get them in the neck so the doctors like to do these ones in the OR as a precaution. Also I am awake and alert for the procedure. I lie face down on the OR table they add a peice to the end of the table that is like the one on a message table you get oxygen and thet monitor your heart and blood pressure and your breathing. They wash my neck with something like iodine (not for me I am allergic) then they use a huge x-ray machine and use a local to numb the site where they put a needle deep into the neck and they use the x-ray to get the right spot. Then when they have the right spot they do a test to see if it is in the right spot or not, I get twiching but only in my head the twiching were down my arm they would need to reposition the needle then they put in freezing into the neck where the needle end is by the spine C2-C3 left and C5-C6 and it feels like when you touch your head by mistake with a curling iron only I can not move it and I have to stay veryvery still. two weeks later I get the rt side C2-C3.
It only reduces my pain down to a 4-5 but I think it is worth the pain as I get to be with my little girls for a month or 2. Which I thank God for. I get scared every time I get this done. I do still suffer with other pains from the car wreck. If you would like any more info just send me a private message

sunilk!
I've already gave you some suggestions on the other topic, but I want to give you an explanation.
First, I hope you have been suspected for sinusitis, where frontal (forehead) sinus is inflamed or infected.
When there are additional symptoms like nasal (nose) discharge or congestion (stuffy nose), diagnosis of sinusitis is obvious.
If the sinus is completely obstructed, the headache could be the only symptom.
As I said in my previous post, this headache could be neuralgia (pain that arises from an irritated or damaged nerve).
Since branches of the trigeminal nerve are responsible for conveying pain sensation from the eye and sinuses, disease of these structures (sinus, eyes), may cause a headache in the center of the forehead.
You may have frontal sinus polyps, too.
The trigeminal nerve can become infected by the virus of shingles (herpes zoster virus). Compression or irritation of the nerve fibres, commonly caused by the progressive lengthening of a branch of an artery as it hardens with age, multiple sclerosis, and malocclusion, can be the cause.

Best wishes!
Marija

Thanks MandMs!
I can alwasy count on you to come upwith a logical explanation. I am going to copy this and take it to my neurologist and say hey, what do ya think? I do think a lot of my headaches are from nerve damage, also from sinus related things (such as pollen season is upon us!) Hope you are doing well. You are truly a breath of fresh air! HUGS!

hey there,
Pain in the head frontal lobe could be a sinus problem, but it could be many other things as well. If anti-biotics, and a anti inflamitory medicines do not ease the pain or reduce the pressure. Then I would assume that the headache is a symptom of something else.
Maybe you could try to get into a pain clinic somewhere. Some days when my pain is unabareible I try to meditate, pray,or I write about what I am feeling.

Sunilk,

I've bn suffering from migraine since childhood. I took ponstan for many years and later advised by my doc to stop taking it bcos' it can cause stomach ulcer in the long run. So, I changed to cafergot and works well for me till today. 3 yrs ago was diagnosed of having sinus as well and prescribed with clarinese and it works for me. You really need to know whether you're having sinus or migraine..

Engage in physical activity
Age:27

Engage in some regular physical activity...like outdoor sports or exercise ..it helps... i have had migraine since the age of 10.... recently I joined a gym and did some physical activity for some 4 months and observed that the frequency of headaches decreased dramatically..earlier I used to feel heavy almost everyday and headache 2-3 times a week. Once I started my exercise I have had only two minor headaches...and feel fresh everyday... be positive ..have faith in ur efforts and be persistant and patient ..
