Alright so I just turned 15 a few days ago and starting right before Christmas I thought i had the flu. Weakness, fatigue, I vomited once, and all those flu symptoms. Well on Christmas eve i started feeling better, and it was at night i started to feel like I was having a panic attack(and this happened to me a few years ago) but I got real scared so I just went to bed and I was shaking. Well on Christmas I woke up and felt better, but I was really lightheaded and out of it. My uncle is a doctor so he gave me the Z-pack cause my mom thought it was a sinus infection. I felt better after a few days. But I still didn't feel right like I was spaced out and distant feeling like im not in my body. Maybe a few weeks later I started not to feel good again and i just felt out of it with some minor flu symptoms, but just not feeling well. So i went to the doctor and I was prescribed amoxicillin 500mg for 10 days. And after about 8 days I started to feel better. I went to an ENT and he pescribed me amoxicillin 250mg for 30 days and I just finished it. I guess I feel better, cause I have allergies too, and I have just started getting allergy shots. But I'm getting a Catscan soon, but I always feel tired and I can still excercise cause I feel that I can do things, but all the time I feel detached and spaced out, and sometimes sinus head pressure but nothing drains and my lymph nodes sometimes get swollen. i just want to live my life cause this really bothers me. Hopefully it's nothing too serious maybe just sinus blockage can cause this. Thanks.

REPLYING TO SURGE22's PROBLEM
Surge22,---Im not suggesting that you are,but if you're smoking pot,STOP.I only say this because you just perfectly described in detail the exact same situation that I went through at your age (I am now 55).The detached feeling that you described, most people don't even understand. This is a classic symptom of anxiety and/or panic attacks usually brought on by smoking pot.As this is an unusual effect of smoking pot,it's not generally connected. Thus causing an even worse case of anxiety or panic attack.Pot smoking may be causing your sinus condition-or not.But it's very possible it's causing your other problems.I would see about getting them treated separately.Do not expect your anxiety/panic problem to go away immediately.BUT-,you are okay. And eventually (esp.w/treatment)you will get back to feeling 'normal' again.I wish someone could have give me this advice when I was 15yrs.old.Anxiety/and Panic Attacks can be a scary thing to deal with.SO-even when everything you're feeling tells you that you are not okay---YOU ARE!!

Hi Surge, Sorry about having no answers yet. I can tell you what you have described sounds like sinusitis or rhinitis. I have non allergic rhinitis. I went to a specialist and had a scan done and an allergy test done, too. Turns out, I was only slightly allergic to some things, but not enough to need a shot or anything. When the doctor looked up my nose and checked everything, he said the right side of my nose was bigger, and that was why I had so many infections and problems like you described. Also, the nerve in my nose has something to do with it. Unfortunately, it's permanent, but there are nasal sprays with corticosteroids to help with pain and inflammation. You're doing the right things, getting a scan done. Also, the amoxicillin doesn't work since it's not an infection, it's like allergies or from them. I hope you get the right treatment to help with your symptoms because they're no fun. Take care!

Hey Thanks! I just got my catscan done today, but yeah my main problem is the distant feeling like I looked up. It's something called Depersonalization? It's probably the worst thing I have. Can sinusitis or rhinistis cause this?

I would think so, because I experience the same thing as well. I looked it up to be sure. And yes because, you're sinuses make you feel awful and feeling so funny from them and the sinus fluid would cause you to feel almost like nothing, or as if everything is passing you by. I know I feel that way, especially with my sinuses.

Thanks! I really appreciate the answer, cause me and my dad suffer from the same symptoms and I'm glad someone else is like this and i'm not the only one.

Alright so the catscan showed nothing except mild swelling in the right side, can anything else cause my symptoms. Not here feeling, fullness in head, off balnce sometimes, fatigue, zone out very easily, and sometimes my lympth nodes feel big. Allergies?

Allergies can cause alot of that, especially inflammation (swelling). Did you talk with your doctor or specialist? are you getting anymore tests done to rule anything out? I can definitely look your symptoms, too, or search some medical websites as well.

I would see an ENT, your allergist and a neurologist.

I also have allergies and I found out I had an issue with soy.

it gave me head aches and a feeling that i was out of it all the time and if you asked me to repeat my phone number, 50% of the time I couldn't!

Allergist said I was not allergic but had intolerances to it.

The awesome thing about soy.... its in everything! I the only time I can eat anything I want is when I am out of the Country!

Major food intolerances are in general to ; wheat, corn, soy and milk.

Good luck.
