Hello, I'm here to ask for help on behalf of my sister who has been suffering from head pain, sleep loss and anxiety for about a year now.

Her problems started about a year ago when she started to have sleeping difficulties. She went on medication which helped her a lot and she was soon back to work. However, her office job involved her using a computer for a long period of time which she admitted to having to force herself to fight the headaches in order to use them. Eventually her head pain became so serious she was forced to stay home for months. Ever since then, she has been constantly under pain from headaches and losing sleep at the same time. When she does sleep, she would awake in a frightened state.

The pain stems from the sides of her head, in between the temple and the ear area on each side. We have been seeking medical help from GPs for a year now, and none have been able to significantly help her. They have provided her various medication which ranged from antidepressants to sleeping pills. She also had a photo taken of her head which showed no problems. However, her pain still continues.

We have not been able to identify what the cause is, where it is coming from or what we can do about it. Currently she is a mother of 2 and in her 30s. If you can recommend any form of treatment, knowledge on this problem or any professionals that may aid us, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Possibly migraines? Does it help for her to get out of the light when the headaches start up?
