I fell backwards and hit the back of my head hard on the edge of a table 11 days ago. The next day, it hurt to the touch but began to feel better and better right away. Three days ago the pain returned, only much worse this time. I have several lumps all around the area of the original bump and it is extremely painful even without applying pressure at all. I went to the doctor the same day and he sent me on my way with an anti-inflamitory (prednisone). I was told the swelling was spreading causing the painful lumps. I have been taking the meds for three days now and the pain is getting worse. There are three large lumps on the right side of my neck now and one on the left. From time to time I do feel nausea and kind of spacey but i haven't fainted or had any vomiting. I am not sure if i should be worried and am in a lot of pain. What would you do?

I would go straight to the emergency room. I suffered a closed head injury and did not receive immediate and aggressive treatment and ended up in the hospital 2 weeks later for an 11 day work up. Lumps should not be getting worse that far out from the injury, and any change in your cognition is a sign of injury.
