Q: head aches and body aches

Within the last week or 2 i have been experiencing head aches and body aches on and off. The body aches have been everywhere from my hands, to my feet, to my arms and legs, etc. As far as my head its been aching behind my eye, around my eye, and my head in general. I currently dont have health insurance. I've tried applying for Oregon Health Plan but theyve turned me down as they are only accepting pregnant women. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have sore throat?
Have you experiencing fever, too?
Do you feel general weakness and extreme fatigue?

If you have a fever, then it could very well be the flu, which a doctor can't cure for you. You might also be just needing some rest: make sure you are getting enough sleep. 8 hours is good for most adults.

You might also find some relief with chiropractic, and visits shouldn't be much more than a co-pay at a general practitioner. I think mine are around 35 or so. Definitely check it out.

Don't have a sore throat or fever. I do feel weak and extreme fatigue at times. I've been fighting depression and OCD for years and lately have been noticing I'm not eating nearly as much as I used to. Theres been a few times that I've felt like my knees were going to collapse and not had much energy. I also don't have a consistent sleep schedule. Perhaps I need to establish a consistent sleep schedule and eat more.

We do have a mental health section in this forum. Maybe you could look for some addition info and get more help there. Smile

You can have a respiratory infection, like sinusitis, during which it is common to have a headache because of inflammation or mucus buildup in the sinuses.
General body aches are also common.
Body weakness and fatigue is another accompanying symptom.
The quality of sleep in sinusitis sufferers is also very affected.
Due to sinusitis person usually has poor quality of sleep.

Are you experiencing nasal congestion?

Sounds like the way I get sometimes. Only happens to me when I hit very high anxiety and come close to panic. I am bi-polor and that has much to do with why I get that way at times. I do take meds to combat the anxiety and they help a great deal. I understand it will not be a benifit to you without insurance. There are some anti-anxieties that could be financially in your grasp even without insurance. This would be an option to your situation to discuss with a doctor.

One more note. Most ERs have this thing called extrengent care (check spelleing on that) That means if you have no insurance and your income is low enough, factoring in number of children, the hospital will pay the bill for you. Call your local ER and see if they have such a program.

Good luck
