Q: He's younger than me

My love life (or lack thereof) has always been pretty pathetic. All of the guys I get crushes on turn out to be gay. It got to the point where one of my friends said (jokingly, but it still hurt) "you turn straight men gay!" The only ones who haven't been gay are a guy who graduated from our high school two years ago (he let me down easy with a 'no long distance relationships') and someone who is currently in my chorus class. My current crush is really confusing me, but not in the normal way. I'm eighteen (a senior) and he's a freshman. Friends keep telling me that it would be illegal if I dated him and some random person who jumped into our conversation called me a pedophile.

Geez, it's not like I have sexual fantasies about him (although I do get that warm and fuzzy feeling whenever he's around). Anyone really know the real deal on dating laws or whatever? I'm planning on asking him to prom anyway, just as friends cause it's my last year and chance to go and I would feel awkward going by myself (and he's one of my only friends).

go for it! dont let what other people think hold you back..as for dating rules..if you're over 18 and he's under 18 then i'm pretty sure any sexual relationship would be considered statuatory rape but i think that also varies depending on what state you're in..as for DATING alone..i dont think theres anything illegal about that so have fun take him to prom and forget about what everyone else is saying..

If a male who is a Senior in high school, can and does ask a Freshman girl to Prom, then what is the difference in a female who is a Senior, asking a male, who is a Freshman to Prom?......

Makes no sense.. Rolling Eyes..Ask him and go and have a ball....Only no sex....There you could get in trouble....

Honey, you only go around once....Live it up...Lord knows, I sure did....

All my love to you,
Caroline

Thank you both very much. I definitely know that I don't want a sexual relationship at this point in my life, so there would be no problems there. I guess all I have to do now is work up the guts to actually ask him.

Hugs,
CJ
