He gave up on me

so, there is this guy. i met him at the beginning of this school year and i liked him very quickly. we had a lot of classes together and we talked a lot. soon we became really close, but i still had an underlying crush on him, but i didn't want to ruin the friendship. then in april we went on a overnight school field trip and we sat together on the bus and i think i really started to fall in love him, and i actually thought he liked me back (he did). i didn't do anything though, and now its june and he doesn't talk to me, and he has a girlfriend, so i guess its over.
