Six months back when we planned to have a baby i.e after our first mating we visited a gynae for more information and proper process, precautions etc. She told have some tests I have been diagnosed with pcos and little high insulin.

She prescribed me with Krimson 35 and Glycephage and told to have it for 3 months and told me that I may become pregnant while taking the medicines and gave us the even alternative dates for mating. Then after following her advice for 3 months she told us to continue the medication. Then after I have taken 5 files of Krimson 35 and Glycephage she told me to continue this medication for at leat a year without having any other tests.

My husband also had an seamen analysis and according to the test report everything is normal such as sperm count, motility, vitality etc. Only there is a presence of little more pus cells. But our gynae prescribed my husband with Fertisure M, A to Z and Ciplox 500. He didint took the medication and we sought a second opinion

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

In polycystic ovaries the hormone dis-balance is such that there are long intervals in between two periods. The best way to regularize the periods in such a situation is to take oral pills.Usually in cases of cysts along with insulin resistance the medications prescribed are the ones which were prescribed to you initially.

If your cycles are regular then the Krimson might not be required. It cannot be commented exactly without clinical examination and evaluation of the reports.Instead you can get an Ovulation study done by a Gynaecologist which would help in ruling out whether the egg is being released or not in your cycles. You can also plan the intercourse accordingly when the egg is released.

The gestin which you have been prescribed by other doctor is progesterone hormone which is given for sustaining pregnancy if there is hormonal deficiency in a woman. It would not cause any changes in the conception if you have conceived.
Missed period can be indicative of pregnancy. You can get a Blood HCG test done after a week or so if the periods do not start.

Folic acid you can continue as it has to be taken 3 months preconception and helps in prevention of any neural rube defect in the baby.

Regarding the precise diagnosis I cannot comment here without examining you and studying the reports.A repeat USG scan can also be done to check the status of present cysts.Kindly be in follow up with your Gynaecologist and take the treatment accordingly.Relax and do not worry as woman with PCOD have conceived though it may take little time.Have healthy balanced diet and restrict smoking and alcohol use.

Take care!
