i am a 21year old girl and having difficulty in my vagina area. i had my period which lasted 7days - regular for me but then i keep bleeding from another area. the blood is red - dark red and very light. it does not even fill up my pad and it is only on the top of the pad were i find blood. it looks as if its from my clitoris. i don't feel any pain but have become seriously annoyed by this bleeding. i also have been doing a little research of my own and i have become so paranoid, at first i thought it was gonorrhea then i thought i was because i used morning after tablets and now i think i have a yeast infection....
help please

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
It is difficult to comment on the altered bleeding that you describe without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation. The bleeding that you describe could be due to use of emergency contraception, hormonal changes, internal injuries, infections, endometritis etc. The exact cause can only be made out after thorough evaluation done by your doctor/gynecologist. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for further evaluation and assistance. Treatment as appropriate (based on the examination findings and investigation results) would be started to help you in regulating your periods. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Avoid vaginal douching, use of harsh soap or perfumes in the area. Use loose cotton undergarments and avoid use of tight fitting clothes. If infective cause is detected, and if you are sexually active, get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent chances of re-infection.
Take care.
