i took a hpt Friday was a week ago and i came back positive but that night i started to bleed bright red but not heavy and dint have any cramps but Saturday morning my bleeding had stopped i thought i was because i stopped taking my birth control pills when my test came back positive then Saturday night i started to bleed again and the same thing happened it stopped in a couple of hours now over a week later i am bleeding brown and having small cots and gooey string like thing in my blood but the bleeding is no longer stopping after a couple of hours like before and for the last few of days ive been having cramping in my lower stomach and around to my sides i don't have any signs of pregency no swollen or tender breast no upset stomach or anything that i felt with my first pregency im worried that because i took a whole pack of my pills before i knew i was pregent i could have caused a miscarriage i took another pregency test 3 days ago and it came back positive also Ive made a appointment with my usual gyno but she is out of town for another week do you think i could be having a miscarriage as the bleeding now has small clots and is not going away like before it has also got a little heavier than before when it increased i read a lot of stuff online but there is so much contradicting information on this topic that i am very confused please help me

sydneysmommy,

i am sorry but it does sound like a possible miscarriage.
you really do need to see someone sooner than a week because if this is a miscarriage there will be risk of infection. as for another test coming back positive it could be that you still have pregnancy hormone in your body (hcg). there is alot of contradicting stuff on this topic and that could be because everyones symptoms are slightly different. all you need to know is any bleeding in pregnancy needs checking out.

wishing you all the luck and i hope your ok
x
