What is a loop? what all is done in one? dose it hurt or will i feel it? how long is recovery if any at all? just found out i need one this morning and i have not been explained anything. need some answers please. thank you.

Hi, It shouldn't hurt, take a friend for support. Mine was over before I knew it . the worst thing was waiting to have it done not knowing is the scary part, you will have your legs in stirrups an injection to numb the cervix (works immediately)this can make you shake a bit due to the adrenalin in it. Here in the uk (at my hospital anyway) they bring you a cup of tea & then you go home. Take it easy for the rest of the day no heavy lifting & it depends how deep the excision is how long recovery will be but I didn't hurt afterwards either.
