(online)I have Celiac Sprue, and suffer all of the same symptoms as with IBS if I ingest certain proteins. The symptoms vary depending on the foods introduced as well as the degree of intolerance and exposure. But I seem to have trouble regulating my temperature; going from one extreme of fridged cold to sweating in the chest hot when trying to accomidate to my body's needs. My extremities are ice cold to another's touch, but at night I sweat.

I am an active person, but when I have these episodes, I want to hybernate. I know there is an imbalance in body chemistry, but I think it might be more physio than psycho.

Is this a symptom of something? Is it related to stress of ingesting gluten?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

It could be gluten intolerance or any other food intolerance or IBS or Crohn’s even severe acidity. It can also be any protein intolerance other than gluten. Nothing can be said for sure without specific test.

Please consult a gastroenterologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
