The original threads are on "has anyone had their back pain disbelieved by their GP?"
I had to start this thread again, for some reason I can't post replys on the original one.
I did see a new Dr at the same hospital. I had an appointment a week after my MRI was done. This Dr was great. I told him about the first Dr and he said he'd look into it and he assured me he'd get me better. He did a few neurological tests on my arms and legs and neck then he went out of the room, came back with another Dr and put up my films, showed me the spinal cord damage and explained I'd need surgery, they explained it all and set up the surgery. I had surgery 4 weeks later and they took out 4 discs, c4,c5,c6,c7 and fused it with bone from my hip and put in a plate and screws. It did help quite a bit but I still have nerve damage which will take time to heal if it ever will but the reason for the nerve damage was the discs pressing on my spinal cord and they were removed.
It definately was a necessary surgery. I didn't let that first putz of a Dr make me stop looking for help.
Thanks for your concern.
I had this at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA, the surgeons were from Emory hospital. Grady has an orthopedic office which has orthopedic doctors there 5 days a week but once a month the "spine clinic specialists" from Emory are there. Those are the only Drs I will see. The first guy wasn't with the spine clinic, he is there 5 days a week. I was very happy with the "spine clinic doctors"
