oooh oooh pick me pick me!!! My c-section experience was actually quite simple. I was in labor with my son, who was born preterm. He was transverse and his heart rate was unstable so they gave me a STAT section. They put my foley catheter in after the spinal was done because I can't stand catheters. A LITER AND A HALF of urine came out of my bladder! I felt a little pain at the beginning so they upped my spinal a bit. Only felt mild pressure and tugging after that. They wanted me up and walking that night. Had the section done at 11:30 AM and was attempting to walk at 8:55 later that night to the NICU. Couldn't eat til i passed gas. Went home three days later. Recovered for about a week and then wanted to get out of bed and do as much as I could within limits. No pain in the area and the wound healed nicely, a small neat smiley scar is all that remains.

I had a very similar experience but my c-section was scheduled 2 days prior to the c-section. My son was breach and was too big to turn. The c-section went well. It was fairly quick and I healed quickly. I, too, was up walking that day and went home after 3 days. I have a small bikini cut scar.

I had the exact same experience as the previous two replies. My bp kept going up and down during whole pregnancy. Baby was fine but doctors didnt want me to be pre-eclamptic (sp) so I was induced right at 38 wks. After about 5 hrs of labor with no progress the c-section was recommended. I was also given a foley after the spinal was done. During the c-section, didnt feel a thing but alot of pressure. They did let me eat the same day. Had baby around 2:04pm in afternoon and ate food around 6:00pm that evening. I was up walking (with help of course) the very next morning. Went home after 3 days too.

Pretty much the same here. BP was elevated since like 20wks, but then at 37wks6days, I spilled protein in my urine, then two days later they tried to induce me. 12 hours of cytotec and 3 hours of pitocin, I was 1cm and 0% effaced. Magnesium Sulfate isn't fun, and after 24 hours of it, the c-section was very inviting. I had a spinal and I didn't feel anything. I kept complaining I couldn't move my legs (obviously, lol) and my doctor shook my legs enough to where I felt it (although now I think it was him pulling her out). She was 8#6oz, so she wasn't little, but my scar seems way too little, lol. It's a bikini cut, and my underwear covers it perfectly.

They made me get up 24 hours afterward, and it was just painful. They had me on a morphine drip, which was nice. But then they switched me to Tylenol pills. To my body, it was like going from an AK-47 to a BB gun... it just didn't work, so I was in PAIN. They of course make you have a BM before you can eat, and because I hadn't, I didn't eat until the second day. Also because I didn't have a BM, my abdomen hurt more than it should. I'm still not completely healed (2mo.) but I was walking after about 6 days (went home after 3). They also made me walk about 100 yards to my car, which took about 20 minutes (I'm still mad at them for it)

The only problem is I'm having a little trouble bonding because I still feel like I didn't give birth. The contractions I had felt like someone was slightly pushing on my stomach, so all the pain I had was AFTER I delivered.

Normally when problems are seem in the last trimester or the baby is to large to dilever or in a wrong possition which makes it totally inable to be delieverd the traditional way, C section is the way they go. It is safer for the baby and the mom.

My daughter's mother had a C-section. after LiL Bailey was born, the doc told me to cut the umbilical cord...so i walked around the bed- didnt look at her stomach-where my baby just came from. i get kinda quezzy with a lot of blood n such.

So i get too the table and cut the cord...look at my gorgeous baby girl for a minute. i turn around to go back to the head of the bed where her mother is...as I'm goin that way, I saw what was on this side of the curtain.

OMG

I see the Dr taking handfulls of guts an intestine and livers and blood and gooey gooey oozy guts...and shoving it back in her stomache...i stood there and watched him take 3 handfulls of this sickness...finally spoke.. Said... "UMM, Doc...not trying to distract you, I understand your busy...but doesn't that stuff need to go back in any particular order?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?" he said "Nope, it'll all even out when she stands up"

YUCK...could only imagine the feeling.

other than that- she had no complaints about the c-section the scar was minimal and has no problems wearing bikini's n such
