Q: Hard raised bump on scrotum
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 19th, 2009
i have a hard raised bump on my scrotum(not the testicle, the actual scrotum)that isnt very big but is hard to the touch. it has been there for over a month. i dont think it is an std from the research ive dont online but im scared and dont know what it could be.when it came up i had not been sexually active for a couple months. it is the same color of my skin and doesn't hurt or itch but is visible. at first i thought it was a pimple but it wont pop even if i squeeze it hard.its feels almost like a small hard ball right beneath the surface of my skin
is there anything i can do to get this to go away with out seeing a doctor? is it serious? please help

Given the data you provided, you might be experiencing clogged skin gland duct. That would mean that the products of the gland might be trapped inside and might cause further inflammation once the products have no more space to spread.
Other possible diagnose is ingrown hair. It is very easy to recognize once it is seen. It might inflammation in which case it has to be removed by health care worker.
You might wan to visit your doctor for definitive diagnose, since it is very hard to tell what the bump is without seeing it.
