I've recently discovered a very hard mass in the middle/top of my left armpit and I'm very worried. I did notice a few months ago that the skin seemed a little tougher in that armpit, but now it has developed into a hard mass. I have always had a touch of eczema in that armpit and have scatched it to the point where the skin is very red. The lump is not where the red bit is though. I went to see my doctor about the mass and she thought it was something to do with the skin and gave me some steroid cream. The mass is not where the red area is though, so I'm concerned it could be something else. Could I have damaged the armpit/muscle/node by scratching, so that it's formed this hard mass, or do you think it could be something else? I always check my breasts and they are very cysty. I had an ultrasound only 3 months ago and everything was fine. Would anyone have any advice please? I intend to see my doctor again as soon as I can, but I am going crazy with worry.

Extremely eHealthy
It could be a swollen lymph node due to repeated manipulation in that region.
It is good to know that cancerous changes in armpit even if the breast itself seems perfectly normal.

I don't wanna cause you extra worries, but, you should get the right diagnosis for this lump.

Best wishes!

Did you find anything out? I started with aweful itching in my armpits and changed deordorants three different times Finally the itching has subsided, wrote this off as stress d/t starting school fulltime. But I noticed this hard mass in my arm pit and over the last month it has gotten larger. Should I worry?
