My hamster may have an impacted esophagus...we took her to the vet and he said it sounds like that and looks like that but it looked like she was still eating and it also felt slightly different. He gave us iodine to put in her water incase she had a goiter...We have noticed since her appointment that she may not have been eating just hiding the seads. she will not eat treats she just puts them around her cage and tries to eat them but ends up leaving them in the same place. She has also been very tired, she often falls asleep in her litter box, she never uses her wheel anymore before this she was almost always on it, She also doesnt move when you put her in her ball and she used to run all over the place she even liked going down small sets of stairs. If it is an impacted esophagus is there anything we can do to help her or is surgury our only option? If she continues to avoid eating we will take her back to the vet but I was hoping for a simple way to help her. If anyone knows something that may help us help her it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Maigen
