I have had loop diathermy treatment 5 days ago with local anaesthetic and feel absolutely fine, didnt have any pain or bleeding afterwards or even now. I have totally felt like I have had nothing done which is great. They say you have to wait 4 weeks before you have intercourse and do heavy exercise. Is this still the case if you have no problems? What would happen if I had intercourse sooner than 4 weeks and went back to dancing too? Can any damage be caused? I feel I am ready now but surely this cant be right?

Many Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I am really glad to help you out. The cervix heals in 4 to 6 weeks. During that time most females will have a blood stained vaginal discharge.

Occasionally approximately 7 to 10 days after the procedure a heavier bleed may occur lasting 24 hours to 48 hours. Hence, heavy exercise and sexual intercourse should be avoided for 4-6 weeks as these may interfere in the healing of the wound. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
