hello doctor, I was on clomid 100mg for my april cycle. i had period on 29th april. the clomid didnt really so i was given puregon shot to induce ovulation. so my ovulation was late till 24th. i had iui done on 24th of may 2012 and trigger the next day i believe. Yesterday was 4 weeks from the day of my iui. i had been following my beta hcg which increased to 86 yesterday started at 33, then to 67.2. 84, and then 86. i don't know what is going on. had an TVS and it showed i have a vague gestational sac on the left side of my uterus but the doc didn't seem sure. and also the ovaries are enlarged. no fuid in the cul de sac. and the tubes are clear so far. she also said its too early. I am on duphaston and proluton injection 500 mg twice a week. I am really worried especially because my hcg level is not what it should be. Can you please tell me what is going on? Should i be worried? or wait till 6 weeks? what is your suggestion?I will truly appreciate your help. thank youjavascript:%20save_changes(353441);

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
It is difficult to say whether the rising HCG level is due to the HCG shot or due to pregnancy. Consider repeating the serial HCG test after a week along with repeat ultrasound scan (preferably transvaginal) within next 1-2 weeks time to confirm/rule out pregnancy (or the IUI success). If you are not successful in getting pregnant with 3-5 cycles of treatment (Clomid with HCG trigger injections), assisted reproductive techniques like IVF or ICSI could be helpful; in which, normal healthy sperms (from your partner) will be selected and washed to be fertilized with the egg, and then the embryos will be transferred to your womb. If you are trying for pregnancy, monitor cervical mucus changes and the BBT (basal body temperature) charting to predict your ovulation (along with the follicular study) and time your intercourse for having fruitful results. Have intercourse in positions that allow for deeper penetration for high deposit of semen. Have diet with foods rich in zinc content to ensure better maturation of egg and sperms. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
