I have had a concussion since May 6th, 2012. I am still having severe headaches every day, nascia, memory loss, a little bit of speech problems, and trouble sleeping some nights. I am currently seeing a neurologist but am not sure what else I can do. Each time I go to the neurologist my next visit is with in the next 6 weeks, and I would like to recor faster. I am worried and scared on how this can effect my future. Since I am a freshman in Highschool I have been doing half days at school all this year. Any tips as to where and what I should do from here?

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealth forum and we are glad to lend you a helping hand.

From the symptoms that you have mentioned, the possibility of post concussion should be ruled out. Symptoms can appear immediately, or weeks to months after the initial injury. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, memory problems and psychological and behavioral problems.

There is no definite treatment but antidepressants and psychotherapy are often useful.

You should discuss this possibility with your neurologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
