so about 2 - 2 and a half months ago, i went to the er with very sore stomach pains around the lower right side, about a week - 2 weeks later, they done an ultrasound and blood tests, but found nothing, basically told me they didnt know what was wrong and sent me home. after about 2 - 2 and a half weeks the pain settled down lots for about a month.
About 5 days the pain came back a bit worse, gradually ive lost my appitite (3 days ago i couldnt quite finish my breakfast, this morning i could only manage 4 bites of a peice of toast) and the last 2 nights ive managed 4 hours at most sleep, due to pain, so i went to the doctors today, and he done 4 - 5 tests and told me straight, its about 95% chance you have grumbling appendix, and he told me to just wait out the pain. i just want to get the thing removed now that i know it is my appendix that has been causing me pain.

my questions are: would a hospital remove it at this stage or ask me to wait?
and would it be worth my time going to the ER in the morning (as its pretty late here now) and ask them to remove it, to make sure it doesnt burst while im at home or something?
and what is the earliest stage they will remove an appendix?

any help is apprechiated
cheers, scott.

Hi

I had axacually the same thing as you, however in my case the glumbling appendix went on for months, it made me lose alot of weight continousally needing the toilet after ever 5 mins and sever pain, you also get to a point where you dont want to eat and feel nausia all the time, all i can advise is have it removed asap because as it continues to swell it cause alot of unwanted symtomps, go into the er and say your in sever pain and cant even move over exagurate with the pain if you want they will do a full cheak up and remove ur appendix within a day.

take care hope you get better soon. ive just had mine removed like 3 weeks ago

grumbling appendix
I have had pain to my right iliac fosser for 2 years, and recently the past 6 weeks i have had it everyday to the point I ended up in hospital 2 days ago with it. I am so frustrated as I had bloods done and ultrasound and xray and all were normal they said. However the pain is still ther dull but my body letting me know it is there. I was vomitting yesterday and feel loss of appetite today. I am going back to work tomorrow, but my gp and the gp at outof hours all agreed they thought it was my appendix, so got admitted. However I have got nowhere with it!!!! I was told they didn't really know what it waS I COULD BE ibs or ovulation pain. I eat a really good diet no problems with my bowels, yet IBS? I am not convinced, basically it looks like I am going to live through the pain and wait until I have a temperature and vomitting constant until I may gt the thing taken out. Shouldn't have to be like this.

Grumbling Appendix
Ive had severe lower right quadrant pain for the last 6 months and have showed inflammation in 3 CTS over the last 6 months as well after being told for the longest time that everything is normal and them shooting me up with morphine and sending me home or just telling me there's nothing they can do i made an appt at the university of Missouri ( the best hospital in my area) with a surgeon and was told that its a Chronic infection and my appendix needs removed because i have committing and sudden weight gain so he told me that its a grumbling appendix. I was also told by other drs that it was ibs or something like that even after having a full work up by a GI dr so on feb 6th im having my appendix removed which im happy about cant wait for this pain to go away. But i was also told that with a grumbling appendix that it can turn into an acute appendicitis and might need an emergency surgery so to watch it so i would consult a surgeon about it because they seem to be the ones who will listen to you... Hope this helps you guys

I was also told that the grumbling appendix wont show up on tests very often so bring it up if you have questions about it because it is a very real condition and after me being told that it dont happen i got a second option
