I woke up very early this morning due to some discomfort on my right neck. I thought at first it was an enlarged lymph node but then it was hard and protruded when I touched it and a little sore. I'm just afraid it could be cancer...or is it?

It sounds like an enlarged lymph node. They ARE hard and painful to the touch. And they protrude. The only other thing I can think that it might be is a cyst related to acne or a pimple itself. But it sounds to me like an enlarged lymph node. Go to your doc if you are unsure.
