Dear friends,

I have recently been suffering from pain in three sites of my head. The right and left jaw lower jaws and ear areas, and recently, after the removal of what was called a "traumatic bone cyst in my lower molar" I have started to develop strange mucosa tissue changes, right where the hard and soft palate meat, doctors brushed that aside, stating nothing is wrong, even though I have also have previous history of a nodule development (apparently benign since it's been over a year now) in the lower jaw interior, slightly below the tongue, on the gum tissues facing the tongue right below the molar. It seems that one stopped growing is stable, perhaps due to neuritis and chronic irritation of the nerve (from my research such nodules can develop as a reaction).

Main issue is the chronic pain that is now on the upper jaw, the hard palate, it seems that some growth is occurring, about 1.5 cm round, non soft, feels like bone..
Recent check-up with the oral surgeon - he lucked at the mucosa of the mouth and said it is nothing, not even a nodule, and then he went over the bump, apparently noticing it, but not mentioning anything to me about that, as my concern was more visible thing - the small white spot of inconsistent shape, that my ENT thought to be a site of previous incisions, but I assured him that no incision was made. The oral surgeon, said that I must have eaten some potato chips and cause it... lol Smile

Yeah, indeed, it would cause a scar like formation by stabbing myself eating chips, while I am careful eating already having TMJ disorder.

About the main issue again, the growth on the hard palate - it is so painful that is actually makes other pain in the jaw go away, but it keep me up at night and the medications that previously used to help me, no longer seem to be effective as pain is escalating. I am not sure what to ask of the oral surgeon, who basically brushed me aside saying I should seek pain management. How about that, he did not even mention anything about follow up MRI of the cyst the he removed in the lower left jaw. I am afraid that whatever was done, triggered some reaction; as shortly after discontinuing predisone, 48 hours or so after last dose, even though I weaned off slowly, I got very dry mouth, and could not sleep. I never had such a feeling in my mouth, I would drink water, and the mouth would still feel dry.

Previous history - front teeth root canal redone 2 years ago, full blown infection, and oral surgeon (different one) had to cut by gums to clean up the site filled with fluid due to infection. This occurred after taking predisone and then after stopping ... everything deteriorated.

What can a growth on the palate be, I can post photos...
