Q: Growth in abdomen ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 14th, 2009
I have what seems to be a growth in my lower, lower abdomen. It seems deep. During the day, I can hardly feel it, but every morning when I wake up, it's swollen or sticking out or something. Altough during the day, I can't feel the growth (or whatever it is) individually very well, my whole lower abdomen seems like a bulge or swollen. Moreso when I am standing than sitting or especially laying flat. I have no pain from it. This has been going on for almost a year. Does it sound like I have cancer?

It is impossible to say what this mass represents without examining you. While it could be a tumor (benign or malignant), it could also be something much less serious, like a hernia.

Your physician can examine you and arrive at a diagnosis.
