Right now I am travelling South America but I am concerned about a problem I am having with my eyes and the anxiety feeling through my arms and legs. My eyes have been aching for a while and this started with a grit sensation in them 8 months ago. I get dry eyes but have been using eye drops for this. Recently I have had a headache for a few days and the occasional blurry vision. The anxiety was triggered 2 years ago from the breakup with an ex-girlfriend.
A couple of months ago I went to see a doctor in Buenos Aires because part of my cheek was pulsating. Again I think this was anxiety after being attacked by kids with a knife. The doctor gave me beta blockers which helped the cheek to stop pulsating.
I went to the hospital in Santiago recently to have my eyes checked out. They couldn't see any damage to the eyes. They said I need to have more blood test to find out what is causing the problem, however this is very expensive and advised to have this done back in the UK. The doctor explained that the anxiety feeling I am getting is not anxiety, and the disease causing the eye dryness is also causing the pain in my arms and legs. When he said this for some reason I panicked and for the first time ever I fainted. Before this a nurse said a possible cause could be Sjorgen.
Does anyone have any advice? Do I need to return to the UK to have all this checked out? It would be nice to finish my trip as it could be a once in a lifetime experience. I plan to get my eye sight examined next as I wear glasses.
