Q: green bowel movement

I have experienced green bowel movement over a prolonged period of time. There was a period of time during which I rarely ate vegetables or foods with green die or huge quantities of iron. I now eat fairly healthy with vegetables everyday but recently acquired a mild but increasing lower abdominal pain on the right side in addition to the green movement. Why would the color initially change to green with no diet change?

green bowell movement
Thanks for the reply. No diarrhea, but sometimes excessive gas. It is comforting to know that I am not the only one going "green". Too bad its from the inside out.

Color could be from asparagus.

Your pain only occurs with this particular food? If so, stop eating it and see if your green stools will disappear as well.
