Development of Graves disease is not linked with head trauma.
It is an autoimmune diseases, where immune system produces antibodies towards thyroid gland (auto antibodies) leading to thyroid gland overstimulation.
It is believed that the immune system is triggered by certain infection and stress in genetically predisposed patients.
