Q: Graves Disease and bowel problems
asked by: GravesLynn on June 29th, 2009

So, for the past few months Ive been having problems with my bowels
My poop is either pencil thin and shredded and sometimes I feel a little sore in my lower abdomen

I went to a walk in clinic, where upon the doctor immediately jumped on the fact that I have Graves disease and every time I tried to raise the issue of my bowels he would shrug it off saying that I am hyper thyroid. Ive never symptoms like this before though...

Does this sound right? Or is he just using a pre-existing condition as an excuse...
Thanks
Lynn

I know, but I have never had bowel problems in this vein before, I have experienced the other symptoms however.

Sometimes not all the symptoms of a disease will show up at the same time. Some symptoms will show its ugly head later than the others. However, you can always go see a gastro and get a 2nd opinion just to be sure.
