Hi,
I've recently been diagnosed with graves and hypertyroidism. I have been taking a beta blocker since the beginning. Then I was given Tapazole and nearly 3 weeks later I broke out in a rash, ithy all the time. For 1 week I took benedryl and was to start a new drug called ptu. One pill and the rash come back. I looked up the type of rash and the exact symptoms are of dermographism.
It looks like I will be getting radioactive iodine.
I smoke cigarettes and wanted to go on the patch but I was advised by the specailist not to attempt it right now but to wait until this is dealt with.
I am more concerned now that I will be getting radioactive iodine.
Should I be?
Thanks in advance

It's pretty common with people like yourself (not being about to tolerate other drugs for it)...

Get this behind you and then begin work on stop smoking Smile
