sir
my uric acid level is 9.2 mg and about seven weeks ago i had severe pain and acute swelling in the third metacarpophalangeal joint of right hand ,the doctor assumed that i had gouty arthritis and put me on flubiprofen 200mg every day but to my despair even after four weeks of treat ment my swelling and pain did not subside completely and the moment i stopped taking the pain killer the symptoms reappeared and the doctor put me on indomethacin 25 mg three times a day ,which iam taking for last five days ,the pain and swelling though subsided to 80 percent but have not completely disappeared and am worried that for how long will i have to take the pain killer to completely get rid of my symptoms and whether will it go away ultimately,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,pleasw help me , the gout has been lingering so long in my case ,i dont know why

Hi Shano,

I'm 61 yrs. old and suffered from severe gouty arthritis since Oct. 2005. Doctors have injected me steroid like medicine. It did help, but the pain or swelling kept on showing up from time to time from my toe, knee, fingers and elbow. My last prescription drug was indomethacin 50mg twice a day. I'm almost gout free today, write me. And hopefully you're feeling well.
