Q: Gout Attack

I have a gout attack that kicked in on last Friday. I am using Indomethacin. The does is 1 - 2 pills three times per day. I started with one but increased to 2 because of the pain and swelling. The pain has been subsiding but every time I try to come back to work and be up and around on my feet, the swelling gets worse again. I can't take that medication during the day when I'm at work. But the times I was at home I took it regularly as prescribed. Is the pain coming back because I'm not persistently staying at home for a few days on the medication as prescribed. What else can I do?

Like many of the posters on here, I am sold on baking soda in the short term. i just came out of an attack and it got immediate better as soon as i starting drinking a 1/2 teaspoon at morning and night. i'm now five days out of it and feeling better than i have in years.

Gout attack
You should definitely give your feet a rest until the gout sympotms substantially subside. Activity tothe affected joint causes pain and slows the healing in my experience. I notice that drinking cheery juice really does help. Haven't tried the baking soda suggestion yet, but I plan too soon. God luck.

i've been using apple cider vinegar for the past week and it works the same as bs but without the sodium. I ate a lot of meat on thursday, drank beer on friday, worked out for over an hour each dat of the weekend and have been losing weight do to diet i am on and none of it provoked an attack because my ph was high the whole time.
