I think there used to be some posters in the teen pregnancy forum that conceived while on birth control-- one of them I remember got pregnant while on the pill AND condoms.

It happens, but not very often.

It happened to me. My son was conceived while I was on a pill. I took it teh way I was supposed to and ended up getting pregnant. Which is why I was pretty far along when I found out. I think about8 or 9 weeks. I didn't think anything of the no periods because I had switched from the Depo to a pill and I thought my body was still adjusting. Low and behold I have my son instead!!

I conceived while on birth control pills. I was taking Estrostep. I had been on it for 3 years. The month before I became pregnant, I was on antibiotics-which no one told me would make the pill ineffective. I'm not sure if my story counts though.

it is EXTREMELY difficult to get pregnant according to all the studies I've read and there have been quite a few since my job is contraceptive research, there are things that can affect the effectivity of the pill though, such as st. johns wart and other herbal substances along with antibiotics, some pills don't work for everyone and espcially the only one hormone pill or POPs
For best results take a combo hormone pill such as yasmin or yaz or orthotricycline (etc), also follow directions and to be most safe don't have unprotected sex unitl you've been taking the pill for a full 28 days (one full cycle)
you can also take a few ovulation tests too see if you ovulate while on the pill because if ya don't ovulate getting prego is impossible

I have been on the pill for 4 years now and havent gotten pregnant. I do have a alarm set on my phone to remind me to take it EVERYDAY and at the SAME time.

ok I know it's a ladies forum, but I was just browsing. My gf been taking the pill for half a year but we also read that sometimes things happen and pregnancy is still possible. So to pretty much have a double barrier, she takes the pill and I still use a condom just to be safe. Granted there are times when we are in a frenzy so I don't use one, but I still try to use one when I have the time. So far, I'm not a daddy yet. I'm not sure if the guys you ladies are with think it's too much trouble to slap one on even with you on the pill, but rather be safe then a daddy when i'm not expecting it.

I understand the double barrier thing but I can also say that condoms bother me as a female. The rubber on my skin gives me a wierd feeling. lol. Also after not using one and not having any problems I dont think he would go back to using one.

yea, i know about the rubber on skin feeling. one of the reasons she decided to try the pill.
anyways, i did find a solution for it tho, i think, i just tried bunch of different types of condoms. i found a couple that did feel better for me and my gf online tho. ONE and Pleasure Plus seems to working nicely for the both of us. I actually read about the two brands in Maxim and found it on an online store that was promoting at our university. i know some ppl say Crown Skinless is the one to go since supposedly porn stars use it all the time, but for me it was a little tight. so i guess if you want to do the double barrier thing like i do with my gf you can try those and see.
