I have an appointment to get the medical abortion pill in the morning. I took off work for the day but have work the next two days, it's really difficult to take off work because I might loose my job. Is it possible to work through the pain, bleeding and cramps?

This whole experience has been terrifying and I'm still unsure of what to expect, it's horrible to say, but I just don't have the luxury and necessary time for this.

NO NO NO. Any office will give you a generic excuse for up to three days after your appointment. You can take the pill and wait until after work to insert the other pills. Trust me, you need 12 hours of lying in bed with a heating pad and a close friend nearby. It was the worse pain I've ever felt and there's absolutely no way I could have even stood up straight. Do your body a favor. If there's ever a legitimate reason to call off sick, a medical abortion trumps them all.

I have just had mine and the pain is very intense it also was the worst pain i have ever experienced. You need plenty of rest and a hot water bottle also keep really well hydrated. So therefore i would take a good 3 days off work. I had mine 2 days ago and am still on painkillers and a bit sore. You have every right to take the time off. Also does anyone know your rights within the workplace regards to abortion? basicaslly i went into work after swollowing my first pill. The night before i rang my manager to say i wouldnt be in because of what happened n she insisted i had too. I went in but on the conditions i would stay untill lunchtime. We work in a shop so she couldnt open on her own.At twelve the lunch cover arrived but could only stay till four. I was meant to be doing a full day but was in pain and the condition was i stayed till lunch. bearing in mind i have every right to phone in sick. My manager then phoned my area manager to see if she could close the shop early but my area manager turned around with the response well if shes well enough to come in in the morning shes well enough to come back!!!! i was shocked at this n was going through an abortion. The point was i have every right to phone in sick which there lucky i didnt as the shop wouldnt have been opened at all.so the fact i came in was a big favour to them, as my manager asked me too. i then had to come back later. i just want to know if theres anything i can do to make this known..do i contact my H.R department or just have a word with my area manager or can anything else be done??? i don,t want her to treat other colleagues like it.
