I recently found out I was pregnant, so now I can't take my original medicine so my potassium is low.. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a baby while having gitleman's and if this would affect the baby

Gitelman's Syndrome
It does not affect the baby only you. You will just have to take increased doses of magnesium and potassium. How long have you had this problem? I have 5 children all were born healthy with no complications:)

since I was 29 so four years. I didn't have it when I had my daughter. But my son was healthy. and increased potassium is an understatement. I took 18 a day and lots of magnesium. Breast feeding was a little scary though cause the doctors weren't sure if the baby would get to much potassium. And when I had the baby it was weird to find out how the doctors at the hospital new nothing about gitelman's.
