well we are both 16 and we both had sex for the first time on july 2nd.
she said her period usually comes in the beggining of the month or so.
she has never been late before. it is now july 14th and she still hasn't gotten it.
she said she should have gotten it by now. we are both scared. could having sex pushed it back a little? what should we do? we dont want to let our parents know until we are sure.
please help

You can take a pregnancy test two weeks after you had sex. Please do this (around the 16th). That's the only way you can be sure. You can get them from the drugstore for pretty cheap.

Having sex doesn't really push back a period, but lots of other things can, like stress, change in eating habits, etc.

I'm sure I don't have to lecture you about using birth control next time you decide to do this Smile

Well then I'm sure it's just late for some other reason, that's pretty common especially in young women.

If you plan on being sexually active on a regular basis, though, it's still worth getting hormonal birth control or adding spermicide or something along with condoms, because condoms alone aren't the most effective form available.
