Pregnancy Calendar Conception : When did I Conceive ? Forum

My girl friend is about 14 to 15 weeks pregnant. Her last period started on the first of January in 2009. The last time we had sex was between the 8th and the 15th of January. She also slept with another person on the 24/25th of January. Her cycle is about 30 days long. Is the other man a candidate to be the father of this child? Her doctor gave her a conception date of the 23rd of January but said it could be a week off in either direction. But everything I research on the subject says that the conception date given to her can't be possible based on the time of ovulation. Can you help me get a better idea of whether or not I am the father or if he is the better candidate?

Having sex between the 8th-15th of jan is when she was ovulating, making her at her MOST fertil time. For the child to be the other man's that would make her 11ish weeks pregnant. The chances of you being the father are extreamly high.

why would the conception date be the 23rd

If she was ovulating between the 8th-15th why would the conception date be on the 23rd of January. Is that even likely? How could the egg be fertilized that late in the month when she would have ovulated before that?

By now your girl friend will have had a scan am i right???? If your gf has had a scan the doctors date will be accurate but it could be a couple of days either way as even scans are not 100% theres always a few days but they are 100% more reliable than using period dates to work out estimated due dates as a woman does not nessecerilly ovulate 14 days after a period for example i ussually ovulate 4-7 days after the first day of my period.The only way to put your mind at ease will be to do a dna test after the birth it will be better for you your girlfriend and your baby as you will all be much happier to know the truth good luck with everything and congrats on the baby Smile

no scan

My girl friend has not had a scan yet. She has only had one appointment.

Ah ok then where i live we get 2 scans 1 at 12 weeks and 1 at 20 weeks.There is no way to know before she has that scan the doctors estimate wont be far wrong but it will not be exact either good luck hope you get the result you want

actually a blood test can be taken which gives a edu.
