I was on the Depo shot on and off for a few years, my last shot was due May 22 but I decided not to get it. I got my period within a few days of missing my shot and then in June got it right around the same time but I haven't had a period since.I had some very light spotting in mid-December but it only lasted a day and then nothing since. My boyfriend and I would really like to conceive so I would like to know if it is possible without getting a regular period and also what I can do to better the chances of getting pregnant.

Trying to conceive after depo
Hi taylortrouble im also trying to conceive after this injection i was due for my last injection september 2011 but never went for it. Ive been having a week long period every 2 weeks but i am not ovulating yet! i think it takes anything up to a year to get pregnant after depo. I am taking agnus castus which is suppose to help regulate your cycle and increase chances of becoming pregnant so try that! but do your research on it first as can be harmful if u fall pregnant so be careful good luck! x

depot injection
i was on depot for a year and a half after i had my little girl - i have been off it 19 months now and am still not ovulating, doctors will not help me or refer me til i have been off it 2 years as that is how long depot takes to get out of your system (so docs say!) i was never warned of any of this when going on the injection and it is so frustrating i was trying 15 months before i thought about checking ovulation only to find i still wasnt even ovulating, i spent all that time saying it will happen when it happens with no chance of it even happening - most women get caught after 15 months but for quite afew the depot completely stops ovualtion and help with fertility drugs will b needed but only after having 24 free months from the depot - the doctors really should warn people about the damage this injection can do for fertility - the depot is something i will now only consider when i am 100 per cent sure i want no more children it did actually work well for me i lost weight and my hormones were so balanced just a shame its ended up like this.

Pregnant after depot
I was so worried after reading lots of horror stories about not being able to conceive and that if you can it may take ages. I was on the depot for 8 years and as myself and my fiance had discussed having children i thought I had better come off it so that at some point in the future I could improve my chances. I came off the injection in December 2011 and had my first period that same month! I bought ovulation tests as after talking with partner decided that if it may take a very long time we should start trying as soon as possible. I started ovulating the very first month after stopping the injection and found out this month that I am pregnant so that took 4 months. I am sorry for all of the people who have experienced problems but I think it is down to each individuals reaction to it. The doctor told me that it takes 1 week for the depot to be out of our system so I think that there are a lot of GP's who are still a bit confused about potential problems it may cause.

I too was on depo. I had one shot in August of 2011 and didn't go back for another. I got a normal period in Jan of 2012 and the. It got weird after that now I get my period every two weeks. Since I want to have a baby after I get married in September it makes things difficult when I don't think I'm even ovulating.I don't have insurance do I use the local health department my nurse practitioner there is awesome she said going on the pill for a little while will help regulate your periods and then once things are back to normal you can stop use and get pregnant quicker than waiting for your body to slowly make that process on its own. For those of you ttc with fancy phones to download an app that helps you keep track of everything. I have one called My Days I can keep track of ovulation, period, when I'm intimate, my cervical mucus, body weight and temperature. It's a very handy app that has helped me out a lot. Good luck to all of you.
