Getting pregnant after Depo and Kariva Posted: 07-06-08 22:49pm


I was on Depo for a little over a year then switched to Kariva for 4 months. I stopped taking the pill because my husband and I are now trying to get pregnant. Does anyone know how long it takes for the birth control to get out of your system and for you to start ovulating again?

I was not on the same kind of birth control, but doctors generally say it could take 6 months or longer for your cycles to get back to normal after being on birth control. Track your periods, get an ovulation kit and then hope for the best!

Some women ovulate from missing just one pill! For other women it can take months for their cycles to regulate. It's really hard to say because it can vary so much from person to person.
