If you have a partner who had sex with a person who was infected with herpes but the infected person has medication and has not had any breakouts can u still get infected

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Even though the infected person is on medication and not having current outbreak, he/she can infect the other partner if the intercourse was unprotected. And if you have intercourse in turn with that partner, you do stand a chance of getting infection. If you suspect being infected, get both you and your partner screened for infection and get started on treatment simultaneously.
