the other day my boyfriend was fingering me and i bled quite alot we have done this many times before and we have also had sex a few times he is my first sexual partner and i lost my virginity not long ago. The first time i bled whilst i was being fingered he started off with 1 finger and worked his way up to 4 i thought this was the cause for my bleeding. Today he was fingering me again and he only used 1 and 2 fingers but went quite deep and i bled again not as much this time i first thought but when i got home i realised that it was alot i have no idea what this could be as weve had sex so my hymen is broke any ideas on what else could be causing this?

Thanks for any help!

Hi! Many thanks for your question on eHealth forum!

The various causes for vaginal bleeding after sex or after fingering are injury and friction, STDs like Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis, cervical polyps, yeast infections, non specific vaginitis, endometriosis, cervical dysplasia which is a precancerous condition, uterine polyps, uterine fibroids and cervicitis. None of them are conditions that should be ignored.

Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once and get the required tests like internal examination, PAP smear, vaginal swab test for STD, and ultrasound.
