You won't get HIV from that unless the
blood was infected with HIV.Either way,
you should get yourself tested for HIV...I
hope its negative!!

How long does it take for HIV to show up
in a blood test after initial infection?
Up to 6 months. If there has been NO risk
for 6 months prior to the test, the
results are 99.9% accurate. People with
HIV may be MOST infectious to others
during this first six months.
Oh gosh you must feel so terrible!! I
wish there was something more positive I
could say...I so sorry this happened to
you. The only thing we can hope for is
that the blood wasn't infected.

The nurse stuck the blood in the needle
and then injected you? That is criminal
my dear.
Yes you need up to six months to get an
accurate HIV test. It is recommended that
you take two tests three months apart.
Wait three months, do a test and then wait
three months and do another test. This is
because the test catches 98% of the people
infected. There is another 2% that takes
six months.
All the best

Mominashoe,
It is not necessary to go for a test every
month. It is too much stress if nothing
else. It is advisable not to have any
risk activities while waiting for the test
results. Use protection and such is what
I would tell TV.
Thanks.

testvietnam, dont worry 2 much. The risk
is minimal. It really is. Take mominashoe
and Msons advise and you will be OK. Do
not stress or freak out over this please,
that wont help the situation, just get
tested and remember that HIV is not the
death sentence it once was. People are
living long healthy lives with AIDS and
HIV.

Yeah sorry that was just my own personal
suggestion. I read that people are the
most contagious in the first 6 months of
infection, so that's why I said it, and
you're right, that would be too much
stress. She can just avoid activities
just the same. Sorry.
