hi there, i've just found out i have Genital herpes. my doctor said its only contagious if i have an outbreak .
i've read that you still can pass it on to others if u have no symptoms and also itsa not very likely to have both HSV 1 and HSV 2 herpes..

so lets say i have HSV 2 herpes and somebody who is completely healthy perform oral sex on me, can they get HSV 1 herpes.?

and what is the difference between HSV 1 and cold sore?

is that true that if u keep taking medication for a long time ( 5 yrs) then the virus will be weaken down and u will be less contagious?

please help...

Oral HSV 1 is typically found on the lips, mouth, etc. Generally Genital HSV 2 is found in the genital area, however, HSV 1 and 2 can be either places. For example if someone who has Oral HSV 1 and performs oral sex, that person is at risk of contracting the virus HSV type 1 in the genital area. Type 2 is just more common in the genital area. Also, Oral HSV 1 is cold sores.
