My question about genital warts is this:
How probable is it to catch them if having sex with someone previously infected by the virus? My partner had the warts treated and now there are none visible, but i know the virus still exists in the body. How well does a condom protect against this?
thanks

The chance of contracting HPV while wearing a condom (in the event that your partner is not experiencing a breakout) is fair. The US Center for Disease Control states:

"Genital ulcer diseases can occur in both male and female genital areas that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in areas that are not covered. Correct and consistent use of latex condoms can reduce the risk of genital herpes."

There is a national hotline you can call for the particular statistics.
