1. If my partner has had genital warts in the past, but has not had an outbreak in several years, can I still get it from her if my genitals touch hers (no intercourse) or even using the same bath towel?

2. Also, can the genital warts virus (no visual symptoms though) trigger positive results for Herpes 1 and 2 in tests?

3. Can Herpes 1 accidentally trigger a false positive result for Herpes 2?

Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Answers to your queries:
1.If my partner has had genital warts in the past, but has not had an outbreak in several years, can I still get it from her if my genitals touch hers (no intercourse) or even using the same bath towel? ------ Yes, even if your partner does not have active outbreak, the virus can remain dormant and you can contract the infection with sexual contact involving exchange of body fluids or touch with body fluids.
2.Also, can the genital warts virus (no visual symptoms though) trigger positive results for Herpes 1 and 2 in tests? ------ If you have contracted the infection, you can have positive test results.
3.Can Herpes 1 accidentally trigger a false positive result for Herpes 2?. ----- Each test is specific to detect the infective agent and test done specifically for Herpes 1 will not result in false positive results for Herpes 2.
For further evaluation and clarification, visit your doctor.
Take care.
