My girlfriend was recently told by a doctor that she has genital herpes and bacterium vaginosis. The only symptoms she has in mild pain sometimes when urinating and just has a couple bumps. The bumps don't look anything like any of the herpes pictures I have seen. They don't even look like blisters. She says there is no pain and no itching with these bumps. She hasn't had a fever or any of the other symptoms. My girlfriend was quite upset after the doctor didn't properly test for herpes stating that it had been almost 72 hours which I guess is too long to wait to test.

The doctor gave her a herpes diagonosis just from looking at them and ruled out any possibilities of it being something else. Could this be wrong? I currently have no signs and symptoms and I haven't. I got tested for everything, but herpes because they said the antibody blood test is too inaccurate and would be a waste of money because of how expensive it is and no other way too test since I have no lesions.

We have been together for a few years now. We're in a monogamous relationship, so I it can't be recent and we don't use protection everytime. I understand this virus can stay dormant long in men, but how long in women? Also, is it possible that if she really does have herpes that it could appear as type 1 from oral sex in the past?

We live in a big city and went to a clinic there and the doctors just seemed rushed and didn't take time to explain everything and figure everything out. I don't think this holds true for every big city clinic, but this one isn't the best. Anyway, is it possible that in the doctor's haste she made a mistake? Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

A Frustrated Man

i had a girlfriend that told me she had been misdiagnosised with herpes because she had a pump on her vagina. i think another doctor told her she didnt have it. i dont know if she was telling me the truth, but that's what she said.

i would get a second opinion by another doctor. doctors are always busy, and all my doctors are always in and out the room.

and i had to research things on the internet like you. t doesnt have to look like the pictures, they just give you a good idea of what it looks like. just like they say you cant see public lice by the naked eye, and boy is that not true!!!!!lol

usually the first outbreak is the most painful one. you can tell if she has it if she gets another outbreak.
i think you should use protection, it's a possibility that you dont have it and you want to protect yourself.
