Hi everyone,
I would really appreciate your honest opinion on a personal matter. A close family member of mine is suffering from an advanced case of prostate cancer and now has the choice of choosing between 2 cancer treatment facilities: Mount Sinai in New York (1450 Madison Avenue) and Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York. I am aware that Sloan is consistently ranked as one of the best in the world. However, the said patient wants to be switched to Mount Sinai because he likes the urgency and personal attention he receives over there. I want to know if the difference in rank would really make a noticeable difference in his treatment.
If you could provide him with your best, honest advice or if that person was your loved one which facility would you advise him to choose and why? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. He should get treatment where he wants, all cancer centers have slight differences, nothing significant, his treatment will be same on both the places, get it from the place he wants .

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
