I have been on Zoloft....
and Xanax 0.5 mg prn up to three times a day if I want but this is all from my PCP.

My anxiety is much better most of the time but is still rears its ugly head every now and then.

God forbid I have to drive across a big bridge over a river or something though. I hate it.

I used to hate elevators and parking garages but I am better with them now.

Bear in mind I am getting older at 45. It has been over 15 years ago that this started.

Normally it is a kinda what works for you and what does not deal. Your doctor may try you one more then one combo. Some patient it could take up to a few months to find the one that fits. I am like the user above (KyTrader) and am up there in years and have been BP for almost 30 years now. I have seen patients respond very well on their first or second combo. Others not so.
It depends intirely on you bodies balance to adjust.

The best treatment for general anxiety disorder is to realize that the only reason that you feel that is because you're afraid of it.

Sit back and let it happen.

There's two fears, the initial adrenalin and your fear of it. Cut off your fear of the adrenaline and it's just a feeling pulsing through your veins. The more you condition your brain to think that, the less it comes back and the more soothed you feel. It takes months to slow your adrenalin down but that's the key to getting over anxiety. It's just a feeling and right now your nerves are sensitized to release adrenalin every time you think of it. Think of it in a different way............tell it to give you all it has while you sit there and feel every bit of it.

The second you aren't afraid anymore is the second it's lost it's grip on you.
