Hi hollowgirl and welcome to ehealth: I would say he is horribly mixed up....I would also not have sex with him unless he wore a condom or give him oral sex nor receive it from him, until he is tested for STD's....

He sounds like he could be in the mid-life crisis....I am not sure how your relationship was with him prior to this happening, but the only thing you can do now is sit back and watch........

He can be both.
- he sounds bipolar (since he has been diagnosed). Check that he takes is medics every day
- he may be gay or bisexual
- when he is on a manic phase he may have risky sexual behaviour, so be careful.
